How to use the edge finder of CNC machine tool

 

Edge finder:
Edge finder: It is a detection tool for accurately locating the center position of the workpiece in CNC machining.
Edge finder: there are many names, such as counting device, splitting stick, splitting device, etc.

Edge finding step 1: detection and clamping
1. A detection of the sensitivity of the edge finder, b inspection and adjustment of the presence or absence of magnetism, c detection of damage to the edge detection position, etc.
2. First use a clean rag to wipe the cable, the tool handle and the taper hole of the machine tool spindle, and then put the edge finder into the cable sleeve by hand
Tighten, then lightly tighten with a wrench, do not clamp too tightly. Finally, clamp the edge finder to the spindle of the machine tool.

Edge finding step 2: workpiece deburring
1. Use energy knife, oil stone or sandpaper to polish the position of edge seeking and remove burrs. 2. Wipe the edge-finding position with a clean rag.
3. Finally, it is necessary to confirm whether the Mao Ke has been removed by hand before proceeding to the next step
Edge finding step 3: Edge finding operation
Manually operate the edge finding position close to the workpiece, and move slowly when approaching the workpiece to avoid collision with the workpiece. When the edge finder is close to the workpiece, the upper and lower sides will be separated. Proceed as follows:
[Back three (0.3) into two (0.2) into ten (10 wires or 10 pieces)] [Back two (0.2) into one (0.1) into ten (10 wires or 10 pieces)]
Then the edge finder is close to the workpiece again and deviates, that is, the edge finder touches. Raise the edge finder, higher than the workpiece, and set the operation panel to zero. Do the same operation on the other side.

Edge finding step 4: edge finder speed and edge finding X direction
1. The spindle speed of ordinary edge finder (divided rod) should be around 600 rpm, and the speed should not be too fast. Note: The photoelectric edge finder does not need to turn on the speed.
2. For edge finding, first select one side on the X-axis to be zero, and then select the other side to obtain a value, and take half of it as the center point of the X-axis.
Edge finding step 5: edge finding Y direction
1. Then shake the edge finder until the selected side on the Y-axis is zero, and then select the other side to get the value, and take half of it as the center point of the Y-axis
2. In this way, the machining center of the workpiece being processed now on the XY plane is determined. (that is, the four sides are divided)
Step 6 of edge finding: input value and check input value:
1. To find the edge by dividing the four sides, calculate the position of the center point according to the length of the workpiece in one direction, move the edge finder to this position, and input the mechanical position of this point into the workpiece coordinate system, G54 (or G55~ G59). It is best to choose the same height position when searching for two pairs of sides in the middle of four sides, so as to avoid errors in edge finding of workpieces with inclined surfaces.
2. For unilateral edge finding, according to the display on the operation panel, reset the relative coordinates to zero. After offsetting the radius of the edge finder toward the workpiece, input the mechanical coordinate value of this axis into the workpiece coordinate system G54 (or G55~G59)
Numeric check:
After inputting the coordinates, check its correctness, and at the position of the corresponding datum edge, after stopping the spindle, move the absolute coordinate value to (X0, YO), check whether to move the radius of the edge finder, and determine whether the input is correct , and avoid errors through mutual inspection.
